Pet Policy
Pets are an important part of the modern family dynamic, so there is no reason to leave them at home while enjoying your next getaway. However, if you do decide to bring your furry friend along for the adventure, we do have a few rules in place that are specifically designed to ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience. Woolshed Cabin is beautifully situated on 12 acres of picturesque land to explore, featuring off-leash areas with a seasonal dam for your dog to enjoy. While 2 cabins have a fenced area, they all come equipped with an enclosed verandah for added security. Our property is predominantly fenced, with the exception of a small opening at the driveway.
1. Please keep your pet on a lead and under control around the cabins, pick up after them and never leave them locked inside the cabin. We don't consider it very pet friendly if you leave him/her left alone unattended in a strange environment. There are lots of pet friendly things to do while visiting Beechworth, we have provided a few ideas below.
2. All cabins have an enclosed veranda for day-time use, while at the cabins please keep your pet here as much as possible, however they are allowed to sleep inside at night, in their own beds. Keep them off furniture and out of bedrooms.
3. Any damage or breakages done by your pet will be covered by you, you are responsible for your pets’ actions and behaviour. If a dog disturbs other guests, you may be asked to leave. Any excess cleaning will also be charged back to owner at the managers discretion.
4. Limit of one dog per cabin (No pets in Woolshed 1). All dog stays are at the managers discretion.
Pet stay FREE to stay.
Dog friendly walks near Woolshed Cabins…
Walk to Woolshed Falls
A leisurely 10-minute walk from Woolshed Cabins offers guests a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a delightful picnic or embark on a self-guided exploration of the fascinating old alluvial gold workings. The area is particularly spectacular after periods of heavy rainfall, when the Woolshed Falls come alive, attracting many visitors with their beauty and charm. Guests can relax amid the stunning natural rock formations while soaking in the rich atmosphere of the once bustling gold mining sites, which served as the heart of one of Victoria's richest goldfields. This historic location lured thousands of hopeful prospectors to the area in 1852, all in pursuit of gold. Remarkably, over 2000 ounces (approximately 57 kilograms) of gold were extracted from this site during the peak years from 1918 to 1920, highlighting its prosperous past.

Walk to town via the Beechworth Historic Park
Just down the road from Woolshed Cabins is the beginning of the Beechworth Historic Park, which provides a beautiful hour-and-a-half "ish" walk into town, perfect for enjoying a leisurely breakfast. This scenic route takes you through the rugged granite landscape and along the picturesque Cascades, a series of charming waterfalls fed by Spring Creek. One of my personal favorites, this walk is not only enjoyable but also pet-friendly, making it a great outing for you and your dog. Along the way, there are numerous fascinating points of interest to explore, such as One Tree Hill, the Powder Magazine, and the historic Newton Bridge. This stunning and rugged landscape served as the backdrop for many exploits of the infamous Kelly Gang, adding a rich layer of history to your journey.
