Mt Pilot Lookout
10 Minutes from Woolshed Cabins, Mount Pilot National Park emerges as a little gem of the North East, where you can truly feel on top of the world. The park offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the stunning surrounds, and from the expansive rock platform, you can gaze across the landscape, from the mighty Murray River to the majestic Mount Buffalo. It’s also regarded as one of the best locations to witness the most breathtaking sunsets, painting the sky with vibrant colors. To reach this natural wonder, turn right onto Old Coach Road and follow the clearly marked signs leading you to the car park situated at the base of the mountain. As you drive, you'll traverse an incredibly well-maintained gravel road lined with granite, meandering through the quintessential Australian bushland. Keep an eye out for kangaroos, wallabies, various lizards, and perhaps even a koala. It's worth noting that Chiltern-Mount Pilot National Park boasts an impressive count of over 200 species of bird life, so make sure to pay special attention to the treetops and the skies overhead. Once you arrive at the car park, it’s just a short scramble to the top, where you can truly take a moment to enjoy the view.
